Absence procedure
Firstly when you are going to be absent you are to phone the HR department to let them know you are unwell or won't be able to attend class. You are to inform them of what is wrong, when you will return, if you will be seeking help from a doctor and also keep the HR department notified on a regular basis.

With taking an absence this will mean that your attendance lowers, if you get student funds and your absent for a while the college will to look into your absence and determine whether or not to fund you or not. Also while being absent you will fall behind in class work meaning that you will need to work in your own time to catch up with the rest of the class. This may also reflect badly on your progress within college as you might not be able to catch up and could fail assessments, also if you want to progress within the college you need good attendance throughout the year to get into the next year of your studies.
